Bayer, age 60 adored son of Gerald and Joan Bayer; beloved husband of Pamela Rothstein Bayer; loving father of Daniel and Madison; much loved brother of David (Barbara), Joel (Renay) and Richard (Hollie) Bayer. Alan was proud to be an Eagle Scout. Chapel service TODAY, Wed. June 26, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. Interment at Shalom Memorial Park. June 26th, 2019

I’m a few years older than Alan and had not seen his name in almost 50 years. But Alan and I were in Boy Scouts together in Skokie at Troop 226. We spent many adventures together at outings and nights at meetings at Jane Stenson.

My brother, Ted, was also in the Troop and my dad, Irv, was an assistant Scout Master with Gene Kramer.

My condolences to the family.
